Kevin L. Rand, PhD, HSPP
Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Rand is a licensed clinical psychologist. He received his doctoral training at the University of
Kansas. He completed his APA-approved predoctoral internship at Duke University Medical
Center in Durham, NC, where he specialized in cognitive-behavioral treatments for anxiety and
depression. Dr. Rand is an associate professor in the Department of Psychology at Indiana
University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), where he teaches, mentors graduate
students, and conducts research on personality, stress, and coping.
Dr. Rand has extensive experience working with adults with various psychiatric and medical
conditions, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, cancer, and
chronic pain. His approach to psychotherapy is informed by existential principles in conjunction
with cognitive-behavioral techniques. He works with adults and adolescents in both individual
and group formats.
